                             Missions as a Ministry
Mission is the greatest task given to us as Christians by Christ.  We may not all be called to preach the Gospel of Christ as Missionaries.  We are all called to witness for Christ through our daily walk.  Through our mission giving we all can play a part in spreading the Gospel to those who do not know Christ. Our Church has historically had a major concern and emphasis for missions.  Our Session has established a policy of giving at least 10% of our total undesignated receipts to missions programs.  Of those funds our goal is to allocate 50% to local missions / partners and 25% each to national and global missions / partners.

The Mission Committee endeavors to support, interpret, advocate, and personally involve the congregation in missions locally, nationally and around the world.    To this end, the responsibilities of the Mission committee are:

1.      Consider and promote special offerings during the year such as One Great Hour of Sharing.

2.      Educate, inform, encourage and involve the congregation in mission programs and activities and solicit advice and recommendations of the congregation as to our mission goals.

3.      Lead the congregation in its mission activities within the city of Post Falls and surrounding area including ministry to social needs and support of holistic community services.

4.      Administer the church’s benevolence discretionary funds, evaluating requests for funds and support for Christian organizations and individuals.

5.      Determine the appropriateness of giving causes to be included in the churches designated mission giving.

6.      Establish and maintain ecumenical relationships for the mission of the church in the greater Post Falls area.

7.      Set annual mission goals and develop long-range mission strategy.

8.      Evaluate the mission outreach each year to assure that our support is actually accomplishing the intended goal.
