This congregation is particularly well-situated for ministry
in the growing Post
Falls community given our
history, location and vision. Helping people grow into mature followers
of Jesus Christ is Doug’s passion, especially as people recognize their
God-given responsibility to participate in God’s kingdom in all dimensions of
life.
Doug grew up in the West Side
United Protestant
Church in Richland, Washington
– an active congregation with strong emphases on missions, discipleship and lay
ministry. He received his B.A. in Philosophy at Wheaton
College (Illinois),
and his Diploma of Christian Studies and Master of Divinity Degrees at Regent College
(Vancouver, British Columbia). Doug served as
Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Fairbanks, Alaska
before receiving his call to Community Presbyterian Church of Post Falls in
June 1997.
Doug and his wife Susan were married in 1991 at University
Presbyterian Church in Seattle.
They have three daughters Katherine, Anna & Laura.
A Couple Fun Facts
about Pastor Doug:
His favorite aspect of his job is…Without a doubt, church
potlucks!
Amusing quirk: Doug eats a bowl a cereal almost religiously
before bed.
Interests outside of church responsibilities: Doug enjoys outdoor
recreation, athletics, playing guitar, reading, traveling, eating international
foods, and thoroughly enjoys time ‘goofing around’ with his family.
