Pastor

Rev.  Doug Waltar
doug@pfcpc.org
208-773-2527

This congregation is particularly well-situated for ministry in the growing Post Falls community given our history, location and vision.  Helping people grow into mature followers of Jesus Christ is Doug’s passion, especially as people recognize their God-given responsibility to participate in God’s kingdom in all dimensions of life.

Doug grew up in the West Side United Protestant Church in Richland, Washington – an active congregation with strong emphases on missions, discipleship and lay ministry.  He received his B.A. in Philosophy at Wheaton College (Illinois), and his Diploma of Christian Studies and Master of Divinity Degrees at Regent College (Vancouver, British Columbia).  Doug served as Associate Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Fairbanks, Alaska before receiving his call to Community Presbyterian Church of Post Falls in June 1997.

Doug and his wife Susan were married in 1991 at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle.  They have three daughters Katherine, Anna & Laura.

LOGOS Co-Director

Kathy Holland
office@pfcpc.org
208-773-2527

Kathy is entering her second year at the Co-Director of the LOGOS ministry at CPC.  She loves seeing the lives of children, youth, and adults transformed through their involvement with the LOGOS program.  It is Kathy's hope that as many church and community members as possible can be a part of the LOGOS program each year, because the relationships that are formed here make lifetime impacts for all involved!

Kathy's parents were attending CPC when she was born and Kathy has been an active member here over her lifetime.  She has been married to her husband Greg for 31 years and they have three children and two grandchildren.

A Couple Fun Facts about Kathy:

Her favorite aspect of her job ... is encouraging people to use the gifts God has given them and then seeing how much enjoyment they receive and what a blessing they are to others.

Interests outside of church responsibilities: Kathy loves being outside, running, and taking long walks on the beach (really! - the ocean is just so magnificent).

LOGOS Co-Director

Linda Bengtson
office@pfcpc.org
208-773-2527

Linda is also in her second year as the LOGOS Ministry Co-Director.  She hopes to see the program continue to grow, bringing in kids who do not normally go to church.  She also hopes that this year's program will enrich the lives of those children and youth attending from our own church as well as those who volunteer their time with the LOGOS program.    Her goal for this ministry is to see relationships between adults and kids grow and be enriched.

Linda grew up in Community Presbyterian Church and enjoyed being involved in many ministries over her lifetime.  Linda felt called to be the LOGOS Co-Director after a time pf prayer and conversations.  She felt that God had put it on her heart to be more involved and if no one else was feeling called to this position maybe it was her who was being called!  The LOGOS program is too important to the children and youth in our church and community to just let it go!

Linda has two brothers and is a caretaker for her mother who lives next door to her!

A Couple of Fun Facts About Linda:

Her favorite aspect of her job is…Seeing the lives of young people being touched by God.  Watching as a young person learns about Jesus, hearing things they have never heard before about how much He loves them.  Seeing the relationship between youth and adults grow and seeing the degree of ownership of our church with all the volunteers we have each week helping with the program.

Amusing Quirk: Growing up Linda wanted to be a veterinarian, but decided not to after finding out that you have to put animals to sleep!

Linda’s interests outside of her church work: Linda loves the outdoors and tending to her garden.
